First Pack Meeting of 2012!

Hey Pack!
This Thursday, 1/19/2012 is our first pack meeting of 2012!
A little change up this time, because of a city meeting in the new MPR, we will be in the old MPR in the front of the school. Please keep in mind that because of this other meeting the campus will be crowded with people unfamilar to Twin Creeks Elementary, and parking will be sparse.
Please come early to get parking.
Thanks!

Christmas Caroling

Grab your jingle bells and come caroling with the pack!

Pack 828 will be Christmas caroling at Valley Vista Senior Housing – Thursday, December 8th at 5:00 pm.
Address:

20709 San Ramon Valley Blvd
San Ramon, CA 94583

We will gather at 4:45pm in the parking lot at Valley Vista Senior Housing.   (Please make every effort to arrive on time for we expect to have a sizable showing).

Warm up your vocal cords and be ready to share with the residents a few songs of Christmas joy.

Look forward to seeing you on Thursday, December 8th.

Scouting For Food and Pack Meeting

Remember Pack Meeting tomorrow!

Also, a note from our Scouting For Food coordinator, Jessica Sinclair:

Just a reminder that our last day of Scouting for Food is Saturday, November 19th at 9:00 am

Pack 828 has always had huge participation in this event and this year we want to strive for 100% participation!
Thank you to the 10 scouts and 10 parents who showed up to hang the door hangers and supervise last Saturday. Although it was partly cloudy, the sun peeking through made the walk enjoyable for everyone! The Bears had the biggest turn out with 4 scouts participating!
Awesome job scouts!
Come join us this Saturday to do an amazing community service and have a fun couple of hours with some great people! Any amount of time you can devote is appreciated!

The details are……

Date / Time: Saturday, November 19th @ 9:00 am

Location: Meet at Twin Creeks (in front of school)

What: Hot cocoa, coffee, and donuts (4 doz. appx.) will be provided.
***Bring your own mugs if possible***
How: Each den will canvas specific areas in the Twin Creeks neighborhood to collect the food
Dress: Please have the boys dress in their Class A blue uniforms
We will also need parental help to supervise each den and shuttle food.
**Have a wagon we can borrow? It’s nice to have one per den to carry food, so let me know**

I would appreciate RSVP’s with your cub’s level (Tiger, Wolf, etc.) so I can determine which areas each den will cover and how many donuts to get.

See you on Saturday!

Thanks,

Jessica Sinclair

Scouting For Food 2011

Please plan to join the Pack in our upcoming annual Scouting for Food event! Pack 828 has always had huge participation in this event and this year we want to strive for 100% participation! This time–like last year–we have two opportunities to help!

The scouting effort to provide food for the hungry began in the early 1900′s, continuing through war and depression. Scouts throughout our area will continue this tradition once again, with no less importance at this time of economic stress for many people.

On Day 1, the Pack will be delivering official BSA door hangers to the surrounding neighborhood.

On Day 2 we will be canvassing the neighborhoods and picking up the food.

The Scouting for Food events are as follows:

Day 1: Saturday, November 12

Time: 3:00 pm (should take an hour or so)

Location: Meet at Twin Creeks

How: Each den will canvas specific areas in the Twin Creeks neighborhood and hang Scouting for Food door hangers

Dress: Please have the boys dress in their Class A blue uniforms

Day 2: Saturday, November 19

Time: 9:00 am (until lunchtime or so)

Location: Meet at Twin Creeks

What: Hot cocoa, coffee, and donuts will be provided—if possible, bring your own mugs—save the Pack money and go green!

How: Each den will canvas specific areas in the Twin Creeks neighborhood

Dress: Please have the boys dress in their Class A blue uniforms

We will also need parental help to supervise each den and shuttle food.

I will be taking the food to the food bank pick up location in Danville, but in anticipation of the great turnout we had last year, I would like at least one more truck committed to deliver with me.

I would appreciate RSVP’s with your cub’s level (Tiger, Wolf, etc.) and date(s) you can make, so I can determine which areas each den will cover (and how many donuts–priorities!!)

This will be my 1st year leading this event, so extra help is always appreciated! Please join us for all the fun while doing a great community service!

If you have Popcorn forms, remember to get them turned in to the Rettig’s by this weekend!

If you didn’t sign up for a class-B t-shirt but still want one, contact me ASAP. The order will be placed after the weekend.

Have a great Halloween!

October Pack Meeting Moved!

Due to a scheduling conflict in the MPR, the October Pack Meeting has been moved to October 27th!

See you then!

Pack T-Shirt Signups

The pack will be ordering Class B t-shirts soon, these shirts substitute for uniforms at any casual scouting event and are great for hikes, campouts, our service projects and to show your scout spirit. Wear them with pride! All scouts should have a Class-B, and they’re great for adults too.

We have a different design for our Class-B shirt each year, previous years we’ve combined the Class-B t-shirt with our camping trip, but after many requests, this year we’ve decided to just order a pack-shirt not related to any specific event.

The shirts are fun and high-quality; they cost $10/shirt. Available in youth sizes XS S M L and adult sizes S M L 2X 3X.
